I would love this movie if there was more talking/acting instead of whole scenes of just their faces looking at things. It was beautiful though, but I would prefer the characters actually talking to each other instead so we could get to know them more.

It's okayReviewed byEllaVote: 5/10
Rip Tide is a story about a teenage girl trying to find herself, it's a common trope that we've seen done a thousand times over and it shows. There's nothing original about the plot of the movie and that OK, considering I went into this knowing exactly what I'd find: family drama, teenage love, friendships and a "find yourself" journey. My problem with this movie is the absolute lack of consistency and the awful acting.
Cora (Debbie Ryan) visits her aunt in Autralia because she's rebelling against a controlling mother who wants to push her into a modelling career. That's fine, it's interesting and realistic enough to create a plot we can keep up with. But then there's also the grief sorounding every secondary character because of the death of Caleb, a character the viewer doesn't know and hence, can't really mourn. It gets tedious.
The original plotline regarding Cora seems to get lost with the problems her aunt Margot is facing - what with her dead husband and all - and it really has nothing to do with Cora's personality growth. Rip Tide tries to tackle not only Cora's teenage crisis, but also her aunt's grief and the estranged family ties that connect them all and it fails spectacularly. It should have been just about Cora or it should have expanded a lot more about the family drama instead of adding so many shots of the sun, the sea and every character staring into the sunset.
Overall, not my cup of tea.
Hmmm, you know that movie "Afternoon Session", so I loved it, that's it. Going and moving, a light story, that parades the actors and catching you, yes, a cool movie! I did not give anything for him, but I liked it, I recommend it, for those who want something like this .... Movie about choices and relationship.
The plot is about an aspiring model who makes a trip to the interior and discovers, the good things that exist in places like that !!!!
It is the second film of the young Australian filmmaker Rhiannon Bannenberg, who previously did Ambrosia (2015), which received a great note in IMDB 8.1! The protagonist is young American Debby Ryan, who has made many TV series and movies, and this is still one of her first feature films. Also featuring beautiful Australian actress Genevieve Hegney who had already made Amber Amulet (2013), Love Without Sin (2013) and Candy (2006).
